Coming from earlier mdxui

What retired from earlier mdxui (the Site wrapper, Card, Tier, UsageMeter, Storybook) and where each idea lives now.

Earlier mdxui described a Business as React components: a <Startup> wrapping a <Site> of <Hero> and <Pricing> elements. mdxui 7 keeps the idea, components for Businesses, and changes the material: a page is a record an agent writes, and hand-made Section types draw it.

Claims that no longer hold

  • Open source under MIT. The 7 packages are unlicensed alpha releases, and their source is closed while they are alpha.
  • Components that deploy infrastructure. mdxui renders pages. It provisions no database, auth, billing or hosting; a Site ships on the host you choose.
  • Time to an MVP. These docs count Section types, Themes and worked Businesses, which you can check, and make no promise of elapsed time.

Moving a page across

  1. List the sections the earlier page drew, top to bottom.
  2. For each, pick the Section type on Choosing a Section type.
  3. Start from the worked page closest to yours in the Showcase and rewrite its words.
  4. Parse it. Each refusal names the field to shorten.
