Why vaultline

Sidework is read, not scanned. Vaultline's serif and warm paper suit a weekly letter, and the plated paid plan on the subscribe page is the one offer a reader needs. Ledgerhouse wears it too.

How it was built

The brief. A publication: a weekly letter for people running a Business on the side, free to read with a paid plan. The hero says it in one line: "One letter a week for the side business."

The records. One JSON record per page under pages/sidework/: the home and the archive name blog, each issue names post, about names article, and the subscribe page sets a free and a paid plan beside a one-field form.

The Theme. Every record names "theme": "vaultline", the Theme Ledgerhouse also wears. Two Businesses can share a Theme; their records stay their own.

The 404 and the subscribe flow. 404.json leads back home. The subscribe form posts to its action, and subscribe/sent.json is the page a new reader lands on. A static host answers no post, so on this host the form does not send.

Use this Site

  1. Download the 8 records. The zip holds sidework/pages/, one record per page, each with its $schema.

    bash
    curl -O https://next.mdxui.dev/sites/sidework/records.zip
    unzip records.zip

  2. Install the pinned pair.

    bash
    pnpm add @mdxui/site@7.0.0-alpha.0 @mdxui/themes@7.0.0-alpha.0

  3. Rename the folder, rewrite each record for your Business, and render the folder as a Site: Ship a Site walks the script, the 404 and the contact flow.
